OpenBSD 4.2 Released, with Great Developers Interview
Well, the Interview titled Puffy’s Marathon: What’s New in OpenBSD 4.2 has kicked off another fabulous release of OpenBSD. For those that haven't, you can buy your copy on the OpenBSD website and take it for a run. Give the article a read and you will see through the writing just how passionate the developers are about their OS. It is great to hear from them, and I hope to see more articles like this in the future.
It's a rather dramatic time for the OpenBSD crowd lately, with plenty of ups and downs. We say good-bye to Jun-ichiro “itojun” Itoh Hagino who sadly has passed away. I, like many others, did not know him personally, but held him in high regard for his efforts to further the internet at its core through his work with The W.I.D.E. Project and IPV6, and especially, for his great and ongoing contributions to OpenBSD.
There was a Ports Hackathon in Budapest where Marc Espie and others worked some magic on the make code which you can find details of in this post Make -j4 Details On Undeadly.org. There have been some major improvements with the ports infrastructure and also with Sparc Kernels :) too…
