Census

So the Census people came to see me during the week. I was quite disturbed, as not only did they show up in our building, but then they called us later in the week. Now at first, that wasn’t too bad, but then it got me to wondering. How did they know my number? Well, I confronted the Census person, and her first response was Canada 411 and that was fine… For 1 second. I then saw her clipboard, and lo and behold, my information, address and phone number was all there, at which point she elaborated saying she gets the list like that (with telephone numbers) and just cross-checks the list against Canada 411. It is disturbing, however not surprising that my anonymity isn’t protected after all. Sad really…
